Viking Appoints Daniel Reed as Senior Vice President, Technology
Viking, a destination-focused and culturally enriching leader in river and small ship ocean cruising, has appointed Daniel Reed as Senior Vice President of Technology.
Reed is responsible for delivering and architecting the global technology strategy overseeing all information technology including infrastructure, marketing technology, call center technology, custom-facing digital experiences, and customer insights. Viking was founded in 1997 with the purchase of four ships in Russia and has expanded throughout Europe and into the American market with future plans of launching new expedition voyages to Antartica, the Arctic, North America’s Great Lakes, and the Mississippi River.
Reed is a global executive technology leader that has successfully created high-performing teams focused on driving efficient acquisition of customers through engaging customer experiences anchored on technology. Reed has previous experience with companies including Expedia Group and Microsoft. Most recently, Reed served as Vice President of Technology for Expedia Group, where he led the marketing technology organization to focus on outbound channels in order to drive direct strategy. Prior to that, Reed served as Vice President, Expedia Global Merchandising where he created a global marketing strategy with an emphasis on high growth in Europe and Asia.
Reed earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from California State University-Long Beach.
