ON Partners Announces Placement of Jason Wheeler as Tesla Motors Chief Financial Officer
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – NOVEMBER 04, 2015 – ON Partners today announced the successful appointment of Jason Wheeler as chief financial officer of Tesla Motors, designers and manufacturers of premium electric vehicles. Jason joins Tesla after 13 years at Google Inc. — Alphabet (Nasdaq: GOOG) (Nasdaq: GOOGL).
The recruiting engagement was conducted by Larry Ormsby, partner with ON Partners, who noted, “Jason is really a ‘best athlete’ hire. He has a deep understanding of how to best foster innovation while still balancing the tradeoffs required for smart, hyper growth”.

Mr. Wheeler previously served as VP Finance at Google where he oversaw global financial operations for the company. This included FP&A, Accounting, Internal Audit, Treasury, Tax and Financial Operations. He joined Google in 2002. He helped navigate growth from under a billion dollars in revenue to $66 billion in 2014. During his tenure, he also served as head of finance for EMEA based out of London. Prior to Google, Jason worked for Booz Allen Hamilton. Mr. Wheeler graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Colorado State in 1996. He later received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2000.
