Echelon Fitness appoints seasoned sports technology exec, Jason Bryne, to Chief Technology Officer
Connected fitness industry leader, Echelon Fitness, has appointed Jason Byrne Chief Technology Officer. The Echelon Fitness model and portfolio – including a wide range of connected bikes, treadmills, rowers, and mirrors with live and on-demand classes and an engaged and inspired membership community — has been taking the fitness market by storm. Recently, Echelon Fitness announced another successful round of growth and funding that will help to forge new deals, bring in new content and talent for the Echelon community and continue to bring to market innovative products across multiple retailers.
Jason Byrne is an entrepreneurial technology veteran with 15+ years of experience in the sports and fitness sector. He joins Echelon Fitness from FloSports, where he was the Vice President of Engineering, and with a team of 50+ specialists, he managed web development, software, database administration, servers and infrastructure, live streaming, and quality assurance. As a college sophomore, Byrne started MileSplit and grew it into the largest track & field and running website in the country. He sold MileSplit to FloSports in 2013 where he joined an early growth organization that scaled from 30 to 300 employees. In addition to being the Founder and CEO of MileSplit, Byrne also founded two other companies, flrunners.com and Evware. In parallel, he held early IT and web development roles at Florida Industrial Scale Co. and MindComet. Byrne earned his BA in News Media and Spanish from Florida Southern College.
