Campspot Appoints Chief Marketing Officer
Campspot Names Erin Stender as Chief Marketing Officer
Erin Stender has recently been appointed Chief Marketing Officer of Campspot. A reservation and management software provider, Campspot is a leading online marketplace for RV resorts, family campgrounds, cabins, glamping options, and more.
Stender will join Campspot’s senior leadership team and report to CEO Michael Scheinman. As CMO, Stender will lead the company’s marketplace programs as Campspot continues its mission to help more people get outdoors and make camping memories. She will focus on bridging the software and consumer platform marketing programs while further expanding its advertising reach, brand awareness, and growth efforts.
Developed by campground owners, Campspot officially launched in 2015 with a goal to elevate the outdoor industry through technology, providing campgrounds a powerful tool to better manage bookings and grow revenue. In 2020, it rolled out its public booking platform, allowing travelers to search and book thousands of campgrounds, quickly becoming the premier marketplace for outdoor travel. Most recently, Campspot launched its mobile app which brings 130,000+ campsites across the United States to one’s fingertips, allowing campers to easily find and book campsites in 49 states in the U.S. and all 10 Canadian provinces.

Stender has nearly two decades of SaaS and e-commerce marketing experience, with a track record of building brands, growing high-performance teams, and designing impactful go-to-market, integrated marketing programs. She most recently held the role of Vice President of Marketing at Neon One, a nonprofit software company, where she led marketing and corporate brand strategy and spearheaded a comprehensive visual rebrand and a product unification effort. Prior to Neon One, Erin held senior roles at industry-leading B2B and B2C organizations including Bodybuilding.com, Classy.org, Evernote, and The Active Network. Her experience across both start-up and mature corporate environments, including an IPO, has centered on scaling demand, building content-driven growth engines, and building customer-centric experiences.
Campspot, the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based company, which also has development offices in Denver, Colorado, and Chicago, Illinois, was founded in 2015 with the intent to provide a simple, modern online booking experience serving campers and campgrounds. Since the initial software was launched, it has processed hundreds of millions of searches and millions of bookings.
