Gratitude To The On Community Of Leaders In 2020

Nov 24, 2020

On this Thanksgiving, we are grateful for our community of values-driven organizations and leaders, who have taken extraordinary measures in 2020 to support others

November 24, 2020 – From product, service and time contributions to monetary relief to meals for those in need, our community of leaders have proven themselves to be organizations that care in 2020. As a values-driven executive search firm, we believe that when we lead with our core principles of collaboration, transparency and accessibility, we create a better experience for everyone involved. We are proud to share these core values with our ON community of colleagues, clients and partners.

“We’ve been inspired by how actively our clients have gotten involved and created a better experience for those in their community during this trying year,” noted ON Partners managing partner Tim Conti. “Shining a light on all that they’re doing and encouraging others to get involved is one small but important way we can help.”

Here we celebrate just a sample of the values-driven actions our clients took in 2020 across several industry sectors. We wish we could show them all, but it’s a very long list. For clients that are asking for donations or otherwise engaging consumers and other organizations to help, we’ve included that information here in case you’d like to support their efforts.

PAPA JOHN’S

Papa John’s International, Inc. (NASDAQ: PZZA) opened its doors in 1984 with one goal in mind: BETTER INGREDIENTS. BETTER PIZZA. This summer, the Papa John’s Foundation teamed up with board member and franchisee, Shaquille O’Neal, to launch the new Shaq-a-Roni pizza – designed to deliver a bigger pizza experience while also supporting communities in need through The Papa John’s Foundation for Building Community. For every Shaq-a-Roni pizza sold, one dollar was donated to The Papa John’s Foundation for Building Community to benefit organizations like Boys and Girls Clubs of America and UNCF (United Negro College Fund).

In October, Papa John’s announced it had raised more than $3 million through sales of the Shaq-a-Roni pizza. FRONTDOOR

Frontdoor, Inc. (NASDAQ: FTDR), the nation’s leading provider of home service plans, is “bringing the good to the communities they call home.”

Frontdoor recognizes that non-profit organizations across the country are becoming creative in how they get the support they so desperately need in light of the pandemic. Their friends at Volunteer Odyssey hosted a Virtual Volunteer Day in June 2020 where you can make a difference in the lives of others from home.  To learn more about future Virtual Volunteer Days, visit Volunteer Odyssey here to participate.

POLICYGENIUS

Leading online insurance marketplace Policygenius has taken great strides in 2020 for underrepresented communities.  Co-founder and CEO, Jennifer Fitzgerald, and co-founder, Francois de Lame, announced in 2020 a donation to Equal Justice Initiative, an Alabama non-profit working to end mass incarceration, excessive punishment, and racial inequality. Policygenius is matching employee contributions to any organization that fights racial inequality.

Additionally, CEO Jennifer Fitzgerald recently joined the All Raise community and its Visionary Voices speakers bureau, which notes the underrepresentation of women and non-binary individuals in tech and venture capital.  You can learn more about All Raise and the Visionary Voices speakers bureau here.

BAZAARVOICE

Bazaarvoice strives to share, give without expectations, and connect to communities, both those defined by borders and those defined by interests. As part of this program, they host a yearly b:generous week, which is dedicated to global volunteering efforts.  This year, Bazaarvoice employees raised over $15K to be donated to various nonprofits of their choosing.

Additionally, earlier in the year, Bazaarvoice was quick to provide aid to those impacted by the pandemic.

“To support nonprofit organizations that are doing work around the world to help alleviate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,” BazaarVoice has donated $25,000 to Direct Relief, which provides medical gear to healthcare workers, in addition to matching any employee donations to both Direct Relief and GlobalGiving, which provides essentials to struggling families around the world.

GILEAD SCIENCES

Gilead Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: GILD), a research-based biopharmaceutical company, believes the impossible is not impossible. It’s simply what hasn’t been achieved yet.

In October, Gilead announced the approval of Veklury® (remdesivir), the first antiviral treatment proven to help patients hospitalized with COVID-19 recover more quickly – a significant benefit for patients and their families, for healthcare providers and hospitals, and for society at large. In addition, Gilead’s SVP and Virology Therapeutic Area Head, Diana Brainard, has been recognized as one of the most influential people in the fight against COVID-19.

SOLARWINDS

SolarWinds (NYSE:SWI), a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, is serious about giving.  Employees of SolarWinds worldwide, referred to as “Solarians”,  are sharing what they’re thankful for. For every #SolarianLife post shared throughout November, SolarWinds will donate $10 towards Rise Against Hunger, an international hunger relief organization.  To support the cause, share this post.
